Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA)

The mission of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) is to assist Chinese companies with setting up in the Netherlands. NFIA operates in China through its offices at the Embassy in Beijing and Consulates-General in Shanghai,Guangzhou and Hong Kong in cooperation with the Netherlands Business Support Offices.

Netherlands Office of Science and Technology

The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation has stationed Netherlands Officers of Science and Technology (NOST) at Dutch embassies and consulates over the world, including the Consulate-General in Shanghai.
NOST gathers information about R&D activities in their respective countries from relevant government bodies, knowledge institutes, universities and companies. The goal is to find opportunities and to create cooperation in the field of R&D and high-tech development from which both the Netherlands and China can benefit.

Immigration (IND)

The Immigration and Naturalization Department (IND) of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations is represented in the Consulate General by an Immigration Liaison Officer (ILO). The main responsibilities of the ILO are:

• to improve the bilateral co-operation between China and the Netherlands regarding prevention of illegal migration;
• to enhance the prevention of illegal migration from China to the Netherlands/ Europe;
• to facilitate the implementation of the new migration policy.

The ILO related activities are besides China stretched out to South Korea.
