Make an appointment

We would like to remind you that it is compulsory to make an appointment for visa application at the Embassy or at the Consulates-General in Guangzhou and Shanghai. You do not need to make an appointment for visa application in Hong Kong.

It is possible to make a reservation online through the online appointment system. As a result it will be not necessary to stand in line to apply for a visa. Please make your appointment using the online visa appointment system.

Where to apply?

Residents of Mongolia
Residents of the Republic of Mongolia should apply for a visa for the Netherlands at the German Embassy in Ulaan Baatar.

Duration of stay
The length of your stay in the Schengen area is limited to the number of days indicated on your visa, even if your visa-sticker has a longer validity. If you overstay, you risk a two year visa sanction for all Schengen countries.

If you have a multiple entry visa with a validity of one or more years, the maximum number of days indicated on the visa sticker, will always be 90 days. This only means that, if you travel frequently, you may never exceed 90 days within a six month period.

If you need to stay in the Netherlands more than 90 days per six months, you must apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (MVV) with the IND (Dutch immigration services).
