Party Secretary Hefei visits Consulate General Shanghai

On Wednesday 14 December, Hefei (Anhui Province) Party Secretary Wu Cunrong and his delegation visited the Consulate General during his visit to Shanghai, to discuss trade and investment opportunities in both Hefei and the Netherlands.

They were received by Consul General Peter Potman, NFIA China Director Guy Wittich and the China GM from Dutch water treatment company Paques, Mr. Zhang Wei. Mr Wu indicated Hefei is very interested to cooperate with Dutch companies in the field of high-tech, chemicals, water management and modern agriculture. Mr. Potman and Mr. Wittich indicated that the Netherlands has much to offer in this field and could serve as the Gateway to Europe for Hefei companies that want to invest in Europe. Some Dutch companies have already set up operations in Hefei. Unilever has a large production facility in the city of 7.5 mln. inhabitants and is the second largest tax contributor to the city.
